It's pretty unacceptable how long this software has been in beta with little to no major improvements (yes. We (Razer) would still utilize the same amount of engineering resource, but we would be leaving all the users on older products behind and we don't want to do that (despite the accusations of the contrary in this very thread)."ĭoes anyone know how long S3 has been available for download? I absolutely agree that the transition period from Synapse 2 to 3 isn't the most pleasant experience, but the alternative would be to support new devices on both Synapse versions for a certain duration and never bring any older devices to Synapse 3 at all. Even with us being 100% focused on Synapse 3, the rate of migration of devices is an average of about 2 devices per month. As of now, we have stopped development on Synapse 2 (other than critical bug fixes) and focused all resources on Synapse 3 (including legacy device migration).

Once again, Synapse 3 is not a reskin, it's a completely different architecture to overcome all limitations of Synapse 2.Ĭontinuing parallel development of Synapse 2 and 3 would mean that we would never be able to catch up on legacy devices in Synapse 3.

Developing it for 2 versions of Synapse is straight up double the work. But developing software for brand new devices is several months of work (that happens before device release). "The first 3 devices on Synapse 3 were also supported on Synapse 2. I'm not just making it up about this btw, its been said in another thread by a member of staff, and I'm just telling you what I understand from his response. The reason why they don't release new products for both Synapse 2 and 3 at the same time is because it already takes a few months of work to get Synapse 3 to work with a device, but the software for Synapse 2 is completely different, and so would take a few months to get it to work on both. Releasing new products without released software is like selling a new car without a functioning engine, and telling the customer "one day it will work".Just not acceptable behavior and the longer we (the customers) tolerate it, it will become the norm, just like it has in the gaming world. So I have an option, use my mouse, or my headset!!.Headset returned for a refund! Now thinking of getting rid of all of it and going with a different company that doesn't force customers to use unreleased software!

Then yesterday I got a Kraken 7.1 headset only to find out its not supported by Synapse 3!!! What a damn joke! So then I installed both Synapse 2 and 3 just to get them all to work, but noooooo, they don't like each other being installed as Synapse 3 keeps saying its not connected when 2 is installed. So, I'm forced to use unreleased, unfinished software and lose all my profiles (as you STILL have not made it possible to migrate them). So OK, I will change, made all NEW profiles and started again. Then I purchased the basilisk mouse, which only after it arrived I found out I HAVE to use synapse 3 Beta to use it! For starters, this is an utter joke! Releasing a new product that only works with beta software is just not on at all! You should have made it work with synapse 2.as that is your released software! So I recently purchased a Black widow keyboard and a diamondback mouse and was using synapse 2 just fine and made all my profiles for all my games and all was well. OK, before I start I want to say I am a fan of Razer products, what I am not a fan of is the software in its current state.
